Meet my writing desk: the heart of my creative universe. Because this is the space where I spend the majority of my time, it has to be perfect. Each item is meticulously chosen to foster inspiration, productivity, and well-being. This look into my workspace reveals the tools and treasures that make the magic happen.
My Green Velvet Desk Chair
At the centre of my workspace is a luxurious green velvet desk chair with golden finishes, providing not just comfort but also a touch of elegance and inspiration. Gold and green in general are the colours I chose for the entire room, mixed with the white of my desk. I bought mine locally, but check these out instead.
Desk Light Shaped Like a Tree.
Illuminating my workspace is this unique desk light shaped like a tree, casting a soft, ambient light that just makes everything feel magical. A writer’s room needs a bit of magic, wouldn’t you agree?
Mini-Diffuser and organic Essential Oils.
Scent is very important to me, which I think has to do with me being highly sensitive. This mini-diffuser and a selection of “essential oils are staples on my desk. The natural scents help to create a serene atmosphere, reducing stress and enhancing concentration. Whether I need a boost of energy or a moment of calm, there’s an essential oil blend to set the perfect mood. To change it up, I also use incense sticks.
Golden Candle Holders.
It’s not a creative space without at least one candle burning, am I right? I actually looked forever in town to find golden candle holders to complete the look of my writer’s room, but could never find any. At last, Amazon had the perfect ones and I love them.
My Own Books.
Among the most personal items on my desk are copies of my own books. These serve as a constant reminder of my journey, achievements, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. They motivate me to continue writing, pushing boundaries, and exploring new narratives. Go check them out here!
Notebooks, notebooks, notebooks.
I used to be a Moleskine kind of girl, but these days, I have become a lot less picky. Anything that’s A4 with lines, I’ll happily use!
Blue Screen Glasses.
To protect my eyes from the strain of long hours in front of the laptop, blue screen glasses have become an essential part. These glasses reduce exposure to harmful blue light from the screen, ensuring that my vision remains sharp and my mind stays alert… and they make me look smarter too š
Laptop Stand.
An ergonomic workspace is crucial for productivity and health, which is why my laptop stand is a key feature of my writing desk. Elevating my laptop to eye level, it promotes better posture and reduces neck strain. Having said that: My desk chair really isn’t the most comfortable and I admit that I should have gone for comfort rather than looks. I do love it still though… š
And that’s it, that’s all I use and love. Maybe one more thing under my feet is a “faux sheep skin rug” and of course, plenty of plant friends š
