Modern life pulls us away from our natural rhythms, leaving us feeling disconnected and unmoored. But reclaiming your wild, grounded self doesn’t require dramatic changes or expensive retreats. The most profound transformations happen through small, intentional acts woven seamlessly into your daily routine. These seven practices have become my anchors—simple rituals that call me back to myself when the world feels overwhelming. From drinking high-frequency blue lotus tea to using feathers as bookmarks, lighting candles for ancestral connection, and choosing grounding scents. Tiny rebellions against sterile modern living that create pockets of magic and remind you who you are beneath all the roles you play.

1. Drink lots of tea.
Herbal teas are celebrated for their numerous health benefits, including stress reduction and improved sleep quality. My personal favourite currently is blue lotus tea which is considered a “high frequency plant,” it’s believed to vibrate at a high energy level, uplifting your mood and consciousness. Lucid dreaming is not uncommon when drinking blue lotus tea.

2. Use a feather as a bookmark.
Just to add a whimsical touch to my reading experience that symbolises that subtle connection to nature. It serves as a gentle reminder of the beauty and simplicity found in nature. I picked my feather with care, and suggest you do, too.

3. Treat yourself to a mud mask.
I love applying a mud mask once or twice a week. It’s like an extra special kind of self-care that literally brings elements of the earth into contact with my skin.

4. Read about nature.
We all know this — engaging with inspirational material can shift your perspective, spark new ideas, and rejuvenate your spirit. If you’re in need of some inspiring nature reads, I have compiled my five favourites to get you started on your rewilding journey here:
5. Listen to something grounding.
It can be music (and if you’re craving new tunes, check out my ‘playlist’ highlights), but I also like to listen to nature sounds: rainfall, birdsong, or even ‘theta waves’ for deep relaxation. I made an entire podcast episode on the surprising benefits of sound and vibration. Find the transcript here.
6. Light a candle.
The act of lighting a candle and observing its gentle flame can evoke a primal connection to our ancestors who gathered around fire for warmth, safety, and community. This simple ritual can stir a deep sense of comfort and belonging within us, harking back to ancient times when fire was a central part of human life, symbolizing both survival and the mystical.

7. Find a nice smell.
pleasant scents like lavender, incense sticks, fresh pine or citrus can enhance our mood and create a calming environment. Aromas have a powerful impact on our emotional well-being due to their direct link to the brain’s limbic system, which processes emotions and memory. A word of caution though: I only recently learnt the unsustainable and wasteful methods in which essential oils are being harvested. Use them mindfully and pay special attention who you buy from.
I hope some of these will inspire your week. ♥️🌿
